Sporty Caia Pupils Get Physical.

CHILDREN attending schools in Caia Park have been taking part in a physical activity challenge set by Draig from Dragon Sport. In response to the Welsh Assembly initiative Health Challenge Wales, the Caia Park Healthy Living Project, Wrexham Healthy Schools Scheme, Queensway Sports Stadium, Dragon Sport and Sport Development organised the challenge to increase the amount of physical activity the children take part in.

Each class within Hafod y Wern, Gwenfro and St Annes worked together to complete five challenges that included a speed bounce, a target throw, sitting throw, standing jump and skipping.

Prizes were given to the highest scoring class, highest scoring individual and a sportsmanship award for each class.

Jonathan Miller, Healthy Schools Officer, said: The children had great
fun in participating in the challenge. The children all worked together to achieve some very high scores and the final result was very close.

Hopefully, this will encourage the children to continue to participative in some form of physical activity. All of the children who took part received a fun pack with certificates, stickers wrist bands and information leaflets.
