How did you start playing sport?
In junior school.

What sports did you play when you were a child?
I played every sport - badminton, tennis, football. I started running when I was 5. My Mum saw me run at school sports day and took me down to the local running club.

What do you enjoy about sport?
I like the competition and going out there to do my best. Also, I like the fact that you never know whats going to happen in a race.

How do you keep fit and healthy?
I eat the right food, drink lots of water and try to get to bed early.

Who was the biggest influence on your sporting career?
My coach Linford Christie gave me so much advice to improve my running. Carl Lewis has always been a role model for me. However, it was my Mum that started me running by taking me to the running club.

How important do you think Dragon Sport is? What impact do you think it will have on Welsh sport?
Dragon Sport is really important. Jamie and I have both got children and we fully support the scheme. I think the key is to encourage and get involved but not to push. My mother was excellent - she encouraged but never pushed me which could have driven me away from sport.
