Who is Dragon Sport for? Dragon Sport is designed primarily for use with children aged 7-11 years. It is usually organised in partnership with primary schools as an out of school hours activity programme, but also takes place in sports clubs, community clubs, leisure centres, village halls, youth groups, voluntary and uniformed organisations.
An underpinning philosophy of Dragon Sport is that ALL children should achieve and feel success in sport, regardless of their ability. This philosophy is demonstrated through an integrated approach to including young disabled people in Dragon Sport activity. The equipment, resource cards and training provide easy to follow step by step advice so Dragon Sport organisers can ensure that all young people within a group are challenged to achieve their full potential, whatever that may be.
There is an additional programme - Dragon SportSability, which is specially designed for young people with very special needs and for use in special schools. |
