How did you start playing sport? I joined my local swimming club in Barry when I was seven and then joined the City of Cardiff when I was nine.
What sports did you play when you were a child? Apart from swimming, I used to play golf with my dad.
What do you enjoy about sport? I love the competitive element of sport. Ive also met some amazing people and made many friends through swimming.
How do you keep fit and healthy? Im a full time athlete, so training is intense. Im in the pool twice a day, six times a week, swimming around 80,000 metres per week. I have to make sure I get enough rest and keep my energy level up with healthy foods.
Who was the biggest influence on your sporting career? My coach Dave Haller is a great motivator and really brings out the best in me. Hes with me at every training session, getting up at 5am to be poolside.
How important do you think Dragon Sport is? What impact do you think it will have on Welsh sport ? Introducing children to sport in a fun and enjoyable way means they are much more likely to stick with it. Dragon Sport also stresses the importance of taking regular exercise as part of a healthy lifestyle. |
