How did you start playing sport ?
I have always played some kind of sport, for as far back as I can remember. But I started playing at home with my dad usually in the garden..
What sports did you play when you were a child ?
Tennis was my fist sporting passion, but I tried (and enjoyed) almost everything !.
What do you enjoy about sport ?
I really enjoy the friendship and the travelling that you do playing different teams. I also get a real buzz playing in front of thousands of people.
How do you keep fit and healthy ?
I train most days with the Ospreys, even though I am not playing, just to stay healthy and active. Obviously, I also try to eat healthily ready for when I am paying again.
Who was the biggest influence on your sporting career ?
Probably my parents. Although, so many people have influenced me and supported in my career, I have to say that parents are so important in our lives. They were always there to encourage me and drive to me to various sporting activities when I was a child. I owe so much to them. It would be great if more parents could get involved in volunteering for Dragon Sport as they have so much to offer.
How important do you think Dragon Sport is ?
I think participating in sport at a young age is fantastic! It helps develop individuals both physically and socially. Dragon Sport offers so many opportunities not only to children, with the variety of sports involved, but also to volunteers who get so much support and training it has to be worth a go!
What impact do you think it will have on Welsh sport ?
Hopefully, the number of children playing grass roots sports, will increase through Dragon Sport. In the long term, I am sure that it will have a direct and positive approach on National Teams especially the rugby team ! |
